Arknights: Endfield Best Free Characters and Teams
In any gacha game, team composition and character synergy play a crucial role in determining how powerful your lineup will be when tackling story missions, side quests, and the many battles in Arknights: Endfield. Of course, a well-built team will almost always deliver strong results but there are also certain characters who are powerful on their own and can perform effectively in almost any lineup

As a rule, the strongest characters are still the 6-star operators. But if you’re playing free-to-play and the RNG gods don’t favor you, you’ll need to look for solid options among lower-rarity heroes to round out your squad and stay competitive.
In this guide, we’ll focus on characters you’re almost guaranteed to obtain after a few pulls. We’ll also look at which of them are the easiest to use and which ones are actually worth investing your resources in for the long run.
The best free operators
To build a strong team without spending a dime, it’s worth paying attention to several surprisingly powerful characters with 5-star and even 4-star rarity who are fully capable of holding their own against almost any enemy in Arknights: Endfield.
Whether it’s versatility and the ability to fit into almost any team, strong support, reliable defense, or straightforward brute force, the operators below are some of the best characters you’re likely to obtain simply by pulling on standard banners.
Akekuri

Akekuri is a true SP recovery specialist, especially in the early stages of the game. Her SP regeneration becomes even more valuable once you unlock Potential 1, as she gains a 10% attack bonus that can stack up to five times whenever she restores SP using her combat skill.
Getting a passive attack boost from just one additional copy of the operator is a major advantage, since you’ll likely obtain multiple copies of Akekuri fairly quickly. By the time you unlock Potential 3, she begins granting that same 10% attack bonus to the entire team, making her an excellent choice for almost any physical-damage lineup that has a spare slot.
On top of that, she deals Heat damage and applies the Heat status effect, which allows her to synergize well with characters like Antal and others such as Wolfguard.
Antal

Antal stands out because he provides a teamwide boost not only to Electric damage but also to Heat. Even though there aren’t many “electric operators” in the game, you can easily build a powerful Heat-based team that fully benefits from the Heat damage bonus. Because of this, Antal fits comfortably into several different team compositions—including one with the previously mentioned Akekuri.
On top of that, he can heal an ally and grant them a buff after they deal empowered damage, which shows just how useful his ultimate ability can be.
As you upgrade his Potential, he begins restoring SP a relatively easy upgrade to obtain and also triggers electric explosions on enemies affected by physical statuses or Arts damage. Thanks to the large number of buffs and enhancements he provides, Antal is considered one of the most important free characters in the game.
Ardelia

Ardelia is essentially considered a free character, since you receive her as a login reward after playing for several days, even though she’s a 6-star operator. She serves as the main, “benchmark” healer in Arknights: Endfield, and her combo skill allows her to both buff allies and apply debuffs to enemies
Ardelia can inflict Corrosion, causing enemies to lose resistance to all elemental types in the game. This universal debuff makes her a flexible addition to almost any team, allowing all allies to deal increased damage and applying Corrosion is fairly easy.
Although free-to-play players are unlikely to significantly upgrade her Potential, her healing abilities remain extremely reliable and useful throughout the entire game even at minimal investment. Simply put, there’s really no reason not to use this free 6-star operator.
Chen Qianyu

Chen Qianyu is an excellent addition to any physical-damage team, and like Ardelia, she’s also available for free. She can easily apply Vulnerability to enemies, which in turn activates her own combo skill.
The additional stacks of Vulnerability from her combo skill affect all enemies within the dash’s range, creating a nice AoE Vulnerability effect.
While she performs best alongside characters that deal physical damage, she’s exceptionally strong for a free operator in this role.
Endministrator

The Endministrator is an obvious pick. For a large portion of the game, the protagonist will likely be the strongest DPS on your team, making them well worth using. This is another character who fits easily into almost any build and, with the right equipment, can deal extremely high physical damage
Their talent increases attack power by 15% for 15 seconds and also causes enemies to take 10% more physical damage both effects scale as the talent is upgraded.
A straightforward combo skill that triggers under most circumstances, additional physical damage after activation, and several buffs and debuffs make the Endministrator one of the strongest options among the game’s free operators.
Perlica

Perlica is a solid and useful character for the early game, mainly thanks to her ability to quickly stun enemies and the extremely simple trigger condition for her combo skill. To activate it, the controlled operator only needs to land the final hit of a basic combo, after which Perlica immediately triggers her combo skill and applies the Electrified status.
Although Perlica deals Electric damage, the Electrified effect causes enemies to take increased Arts damage, helping all casters on your team. Her talent, “Annihilation Protocol,” increases damage dealt to stunned enemies by 20%.
Unlocking Potential 1 extends the duration of Electrified, and at Potential 3 Perlica herself gains a temporary 20% attack bonus that can stack. She’s extremely easy to use, helps trigger combo skills more often, and boosts the team’s Arts damage output, making her a genuinely powerful ally.

I haven’t been working in the IT industry for very long, but ever since I was a kid I knew this was what I wanted to do. I started studying and tinkering with hardware when I was around 10 years old, although I had been using computers long before that , I used my first mouse at just 3 years old.
My studies focused on computer science topics, mainly cybersecurity. Over time, I discovered how much I enjoyed sharing hardware-related news and information with others.
Like many professionals in the industry, video games were one of my main motivations for getting into tech. They’re still a big part of my daily life, and I’m always keeping an eye on the latest announcements.
I’ve been working at PerfCore for a while now as a writer, and little by little I’m gaining experience in other roles as well such as doing in-depth product reviews and developing a more critical, analytical approach to hardware.
